Orbison did indeed do a song about driving through the night. I don't mind night driving, empty roads, less hold-ups, though it's something I don't do too often, it depends.
I got back home about 4am Saturday morning, my daughter Jo had arrived from Cornwall Saturday morning. I grabbed about 3hrs sleep and strangely she was more tired than I, we went to the cinema in the evening and she was falling asleep...lol, whereas I felt as fresh as a daisy.
Scotland holiday wasn't too bad, a little lonely, but it was brightened up a little when I gave a lift to two ladies from Finland who were making their way down the A82 to Fort William and were walking to a bus stop, the buses are every 2hrs. They were staying at the Premier Inn in Fort William for 6days, and I was most pleased when they accepted my offer to treat them to a evening meal, so we arranged to meet up 4hrs later in the restaurant.
They were excellent company for a couple hours, they cheered me up no end and their English was likely better than mine.
The holiday was slightly marred however by a necessary trip to the Raigmore hospital A&E in Inverness on the Monday, as a hernia that's been giving me a little trouble for some time decided to pop out causing excruciating pain, but the doc fixed it temporarily. So now I'm awaiting an appointment to arrive so I can get it sorted at our own hospital, the sooner the better as it's been giving quite a bit of discomfort today which I could have done without as my daughter and I, had that meeting with the hospital management and consultants today...IOW the conclusion of their 5 months investigation into Ann's death.
