That sounds amazing!   I can't wait to start making stew.  I always make a giant one which lasts days, and every time would bring back lovely memories of my dad (the first time I asked him how to make stew and all the stews he made. Were good times) xx
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
Hold on in there xx

That's the way to go George. I am amazed by my slow cooker. I brown the beef a bit then throw it in the slow cooker with a veg pack and some oxo's or one of those shwartz(?) spice sachets, switch it on and a few hours later ... Stew. I also like to throw a few spuds and some dumplings in to pad it out.

In fact that's Friday's tea decided on.

I'm sure it would still be pretty good without the meat. Just whats needed as the days get colder.

Yes - so do I occasionally, thigh fillets. No bones, no waste - everything gets eaten
I'll never get over losing her and I used to think that eventually
I would learn to live with it - that's not happened yet.

You're all making my mouth water now. We loved stew but it was Alan's favourite thing that I cooked and so can't bear to make it and him not being able to have any- how daft is that ?!

Well I wasn't going to bother with any tea today,  but there's been a couple of Salmon Steaks in the freezer for god knows how long..lol,  so I had a search online the best way to cook them, and chose the wrap in foil method, as IME even I can manage that without burning it...lol, at least I hope... so I'm having tea but a little later than usual. :yahoo:
