I've done a fair bit of 'video grabbing' from VHS, MiniDV, 8mm and Hi8 tapes in the past. If you're working with an analogue source then the USB video grabbers that are available work very well. The trouble is that as soon as you think that you're all set up, they introduce a new standard and all your old tapes, DVD's and video files are out of date. Windows 10 updates also plays havoc with system drivers as well. If I ever complete my mission I'lll have compiled everything to .mp4 videos which I store on my network drive. My problem is that while I'm trying to put the old stuff in some sort of order, I keep getting swamped by new images and video from all the family
