I wondered what that did lol.

You have to type between the brackets for these things to work Karena and thats why your post shows the word font

moving text in Penny's favourite colour this is going to be fun when we've all been in the wine cellar
[/color][/size] but on a more serious not it could be my eyes but the background white is very bright when trying to read a more serious post.

There is more styles you can change to somewhere, use the help file for guidance... :)

looking at the different font options testing, testing
Just wondering, would some visitors get confused if they see the font change brackets coming up whilst typing?  Ive come across it but not often, people are probably used to not seeing that
Although, if someone is unsure, are they unlikely to change font/text anyway, therefore not an issue?
(Just trying to be thorough in my testing, and imagining myself as a newbie) xx

We have always had the options on the old board to change things about Emz but like you said no one up to now has ever bothered, but good testing point. Got to say it looks easier to do here so it might happen more who knows.  8)

(What is all this about typing between brackets)

Say you want to type in a colour like this. you click above on change colour and a BBcode will appear, so long as you type between the brackets, it will work like this, or like this, or this.

start by clicking on the font options above, like italics  you will notice brackets will appear, just start typing and as long as text shows between the brackets which come up, font will change Sparky   :-) xx

This never worked because your text is not between the brackets John. Click on modify on your post and you will see what I mean. Cut ONLY the text "I thought I had it????" then paste it between the BBcode brackets for the colour purple you chose and it will work  :coffeetoast:

You're almost there sparky.  When the brackets come up type between the two sets
choose option then just type (where cursor already shows)

OK if it helps.the first bracket is the start bracket so indicates you start doing something start colour start font change etc.the second bracket has / which indicates the en of doing that particular thing.so

(color=green)the text here should be green  (/color) and now back to default black.what is typed between the two brackets obeys the start instruction and then ends when the second bracket tells it too.

And that my clever peeps is the basics of HTML computer coding used for websites,so give yourselves a pat on the back and reload the kettle you have earned another pot of tea.oh and please note color is spelt the american way so on this occasion not my bad typing.

We were learning how things worked on this new board and got a bit carried away Cairo, hope your heads stopped spinning by now lol. I see you've got the hang of it and it does look nice I must say used now and again.

Have you tried the different colours you can choose from up the top to change the board color?  :coffeetoast:

Hi Emma - not had time for films but hopefully once things sorted with the Father in Law I will get some Me time.  I seen you have set up the link again for Films and TV and although I am not saying much at the moment when I get chance I do log in and see what's going on with you lovely people.  Father in Law had a stroke Feb 2010 and that year my Mother in law passed away in the Nov 2010 out of the blue - obviously a bad year for us we were devastated with the life changing events.  He is partially paralysed down left side no use left arm/hand and leg very weak.  His mobility is a problem now we are trying to convince him to sell the house and move into a residential flat with warden/care control for better quality of life.  Unfortunately like we all know not an easy thing to do all his memories are in the family home.  We are assessing each day.  He has been falling in and out of the house for the past two months we have the SOS system installed but he is that stubborn/selfish he does not use it.  He rings his son all the time and if he cannot get hold of him he rings me or my son's my worry is one day one of the lads rushes around there and finds him not moving so far over the years we have been lucky he slips out of bed or out of the chair but recently falls have been worse thankfully no bones broken but very bad bruising.  We just want him to have quality of life we all work and it is difficult striking a balance.  On days when he has nothing planned like stroke club once a fortnight (used to be weekly then cuts and facilities closed) he mainly stays in bed all day until tea time when brother in law get's there to do his tea!  It is hard though for him he lost his wife in 2010 then my Debbie (his Daughter so suddenly in Aug 14).  Debbie used to take him out on a Friday every week she had the patience of a saint because the stroke totally changed his character nothing fazed her though.  Still just getting it all out of my head thank you all on this site.  - Thanx Emma.
