Title: Hi, lost my husband
Post by: Pippa on September 08, 2018, 04:55:33 PM
Hi,

I’m Pippa I’m 37 and I lost my husband two weeks ago. We’ve been together for 22 years and he had Cystic Fibrosis. He had a double lung transplant 3 years but recently went into rejection, and shortly after finding this out he passed away.

I thought I was prepared but i wasn’t and I’m struggling a little bit, but came across this forum so hopefully this will help.

Thanks

 I dont think any of us are ever really prepared, we focus so much on caring for them and all the hospital visits etc etc and even though we are told wht the situation is we still cling to the idea that there will be a last minute cure or it has all been a mistake -i think our minds do that because if they didnt we wouldnt actually be able to care for them as our own despair would be too great. Then when it becomes a reality it still feels like a shock. All we can really do is take each hour and each day as it comes. Grief is  long journey and a roller coaster ride at that
