My son committed suicide in July whilst in prison. He was adopted at the age of 2 and I had supported him through all his prison sentences. I was not informed of this happening but found out via social media. For some reason he had contacted his birth mother without telling me,I always encouraged that he should look for her if he wished. He had put her down as next of kin and although they had my details they did not contact me.
NOK have no legal rights and she was not his legal mother but they gave her his possessions and all details relating to him. It was awful.
