Have been member of FB group for some time, but just joined here today.
After 40 years together, my wife Jo died on 19th Nov 2016, her funeral was on 16th Dec 2016, and our first grandchild was born in between - so they never got to meet. Until about 2 weeks ago I thought I was doing OK, but these anniversaries, coupled with both my birthday and Xmas, have laid me low.
One of the songs Jo requested for her service was Autumn Leaves, and my son and I managed to record a guitar and sax track for her, don't ask me how. I had paid little heed to the lyrics beforehand, but they are incredibly poignant now:
"Since you went away, the days grow long,
And soon I'll hear old winter's song;
But I'll miss you most of all, my darling,
When Autumn Leaves start to fall."
Feeling down :(
