Grief, especially in the early stages, has a way of amplifying all the other problems that crop up in our lives. Your dad would have been there for you to turn to and, even if he couldn't deal with your little ones problem, he could have offered support while you got on with dealing with it. Without that support the problem seems that much worse.It will  take some getting used to.

The time off work will give you an opportunity to let the emotions out, It helps. I feel a bit better after a cry and sometimes even find myself looking forward to crying to release the pent up emotions. Try to remember the happy times. It will make you sad at first but gradually you will be able to talk and even laugh with family members about memories you have.

One day at a time.
