Good morning all,
I'm on the committee of a community centre near to where I live and for some time now my eldest daughter and I have been organising a charity event. It was last night and we raised £945 (topped up to £1000 by the centre) all of which will be donated to our local Hospice. Our local spiritualist church members hosted a "Clairvoyance Evening" and the money was raised by tickets to the evening and also a raffle with prizes donated by friends and local businesses.
It's been a busy few weeks and I'm having a recuperation day today. You wouldn't believe how much work goes into organising something like this, but it's been worth it. The Hospice is where Chris passed away and the help that we received from staff there before during and after her last days was beyond measure. The costs of maintaining the Hospice are huge and in a way raising a bit towards those costs is continuing to help me after losing Chris.
